First impressions were good, then really NOT good, then back to good again.
The safe was delivered with lots of excellent protective layers, including plastic wrap, foam blocks that were taped on, and plenty of cardboard. Not a scratch on it and it looked great! Then, I tried to open it... Oh boy. Liberty probably needs to add another sticker on the outside to give new owners a heads up that the door might not open right away. Turns out, those locking bars that work so well against thieves can stick at first and sometimes require a LOT of hard locking and unlocking to get them to fully pull in and allow the door to open. This is particularly challenging when the handles are locked inside and it's very hard to get any real torque on the opener mechanism. Called Liberty, but they were out of office. Then called Dean and Mary was super friendly and helpful and even offered to send me some temporary handles to help get the door open. Mary is my hero BTW ;) . Thankfully, I found one tip on Liberty's website in the FAQ's that said to open and close firmly several times to get the bars to fully retract. That worked and I finally got the door open after about an hour of being wildly frustrated and disappointed. Moving on, I got the power block, light kit, and dehumidifier rod installed and moved all my giant gold bars (kidding) into the new safe. Looks great and works perfectly. REALLY like the fingerprint reader on the lock! So happy I opted for that upgrade. Overall, would still very much recommend this safe. It has a lot of great features for a relatively modest price. And it's NOT made in China.

Overall Dean Safe provided me the safe I wanted. For that I am happy which is why I gave them a 4 star rating. For a 5 star they would need to add install in place as an option to their service and also change the combination as requested.
