Engineered with a special focus on burglary, the FB-1054 Hollon Oyster safe features heavy duty hinges and a unique 1” thick hinge side locking bar that extends from the top to the bottom of the door. With a 2 hour fire rating at 1700° FB-1054 Hollon Oyster safe truly brings the best fire and burglary resistance for the price.
With 3 moving front bolts and 1 vertical locking bar, the FB-1054 is near impossible to break into. This Hollon Fire and Burglary Safe features an anchoring hole on the bottom of the safe, and all bolting hardware is included. By bolting the safe down, you force a burglar to crack it during the break-in, and with this safe's burglary protection, all I have to say to the burglar is: Good Luck.
Hollon provides the option for an S&G Electronic Lock or S&G Spyproof Mechanical Dial for the same cost on the FB-1054. Both lock options come with a glass re-locker for extra protection.
This model in particular, the FB-1054 weighs 748 lbs. and has a 9.71 cubic Ft. capacity.
Hollon backs the FB-1054 Oyster fire and burglary safe with a one year parts and labor warranty along with a lifetime warranty that protects against house fires.
To start with, the safe is great. Exactly the size I was looking for.
Now! After receiving the safe I took the door off to move it upstairs so it would be a bit lighter. When moving the safe upstairs both large round pins that the door swings on fell out. There is nothing to hold them in if the safe is turned sideways or upside down. The pins have a ridge around them making one side shorter than the other. When I placed the pins back into the safe, I put the short side into the safe and the door onto the long side of the pins. Unbeknownest to me, it raised the door just a micron or so. When I tried to shut the door it was like pushing against air pressure. If I slammed the door it would shut. The door was actually rubbing against the inside of the safe on the top.
Having never used a digital keypad, I did not realize it beeps twice when it locks. I would shut the safe by a small amount of force and it would appear closed. If I slammed the door shut it would give the two beeps and really be locked. When the door appeared locked to me but I did not hear the two beeps, it was actually unlocked even though appearing locked.
I once again took the door off, turned the pins around so the long side was down and the short side was up for the safe door to swing on. Now When I close the door it swings smoothly, automatically locks and it beeps twice.
Just wanted to tell this short story incase anyone messes up like I did and puts the pins in the wrong way.
Great safe for the price. Heavy enough to feel assured no one is just going to pick up and walk off with it.
Great service from Dean Safe
After discussion with safe specialists they recommended this safe to me and I am very pleased with the quality and the service and price from Dean Safe. The experts steered me to the right place and the right product.
I wanted to revise my review as Deansafe immediately replied back to me assisting with updates for my new safe. After reviewing order with James he said it was finally picked up and in transit. They have redeemed my trust. I need to take my own advice and have patience as Covid-19 has slowed EVERYTHING down
