I purchased about 5 months ago and was happy with this safe, though box would be just a little thicker but not a big deal. It does have some weight to it so not easy to carry off though bolting it down is always best. The only thing that bothers me is not being able to disable Keypad beeps, in the night if you store your weapon inside everyone knows your opening the safe. I would still recommend this safe.
The safe works as expected but it arrived damaged. The power strip inside was no longer attached and the screws used to attach it were laying inside along with sawdust from where they stripped out from the wood. There was damage to the exterior edge with a very noticeable dent and another area where the protective coating was scraped off on a corner. Since we are not using the power strip and the safe is not going to be seen by anyone theses issues are not a deal breaker. The battery powered keypad works fine and the video instructions were very helpful.
I like this safe. For what it is, there are lots of aspects that are indicative of high-end items. The finish and fit are very good. The safe is heavy and robust. The door has a nice industrial-grade feel to it. The lock mechanism is top-notch. The powder coating-like exterior appears perfect, and the carpeted interior is plush and has a nice aesthetic. My only gripe is the locking lever jiggles and rattles a bit like it is either loose (which it is not) or cheaply made. Otherwise a very nice safe.
Safe is as expected. Not quite as heavily constructed as I was hoping.
Great safe for the price , keep up the good job Dean Safe .
