Experience has taught us that the best way to transport a safe of this type, in a pick-up truck, is on it's back. (Rule of thumb: The lower the bed height and/or the higher the safe, the better.) It is okay to remove the tailgate.

Place the safe far enough from the bed, so it will lean over at a forty-five° angle. find a partner to help, one on each side is fine, a third in the center never hurts. Once the safe is lifted level, it should easily slide in unless you have a bed liner. In that case some cardboard or PVC pipe should help break the friction.

Move the safe as far forward as you can, but don't ram it. It could bend the front of the bed. To remove it, just reverse the process
