- Works on one nine volt alkaline battery
- Electronic lock with key override in case the battery dies
- Comes with mounting hardware to mount to a wooden surface (you can mount it to a metal object but hardware is not supplied for that application)
The GunVault SV500 SpeedVault handgun safe offers quick access to your handgun.
It can be mounted under a desk or next to your bed. Open the SpeedVault initially with the key and then insert the nine volt alkaline battery and set your own combination.
Once programmed, just push your chosen button sequence and the unit opens quickly and quietly. The SpeedVault will give you years of reliable service and you can feel safe knowing that you can get to your weapon at a moment's notice.
The mounting plate mounts to the wall or under a desk and then the safe locks securely onto the plate. You can only remove the safe from the mounting plate from inside the safe itself. The unit weighs about six and a quarter pounds and measures 13" x 3.5" x 6.5".
The handsome black finish will blend in to any decor. Ease of mind is what the SV500 SpeedVault will give you on a daily basis.

This rapid deployment gun safe is excellent. It opens rapidly by weight of gravity once you hit combination. I like that you can require the simultaneous pressing of more than one button as one or more steps in the combination you set. Most people think that gun safe combinations are based on pressing the right single button, but requiring the simultanous pressing of two buttons as part of the combination adds an extra measure of security. I like that it can be mounted on multiple ways to suit the location - on the wall, inside the knee hole of a desk, under a counter, etc. When you decide on placement, you need to keep in mind that every year or so you will need to replace the battery, so make sure you can access the battery compartment easily. The only draw back is that, if you have big hands, it can be a little tight work mounting the gun safe. I would definitely recommend it.
