Have a wide item that needs great theft protection from an in the floor safe?
With a 16" wide clear door opening, the AMSEC Wide Door Brute In-Floor Safe is the perfect solution for those items that are awkward or unable to fit in the standard floor safes like a cash tray for example.
When properly installed in concrete, the BRUTE series offers excellent burglary protection and actually exceeds the requirements of the insurance offices manual of burglary insurance. All BRUTE safes feature three 1" diameter, drive resistant chromed steel locking bolts with a long throw. The 1/2" solid steel plate door is designed to fit the full body size which greatly reduces and helps prevent the possibility of a pry attack. In the event the hinges are removed from the door, a heavy duty dead bar is located behind the hinge to prevent removal of the door during a forced entry attempt.
On the door lies a UL listed Group II key changeable dial lock with 1 million possible combinations. During a punch attack, an additional spring loaded relocking device is activated and both the lock and relocker is protected by a large carburized hardplate. A 3M Lexan escutcheon plate covers the entire door surface while not in use allowing for a flat surface while the safe is hidden.
The body includes an oversized floor plate ensuring strong installation in concrete and with the 3/8" diameter steel hinge pins this safe is built to last for years and years.
AMSEC believes in and stands behind the quality of the Brute series by offering a 1 year warranty on parts and labor.
While floor safes offer great security being easily hidden and surrounded by concrete, these same features also make them extremely susceptible to moisture problems. Keeping papers and valuables inside zip lock bags and Tupperware help when experiencing a fire or flood, humidity will still seep inside causing mildew and corrosion. We strongly recommend using a Lockdown Silica Gel Can to absorb this moisture and keep your valuables safe. It's a small, rechargeable unit that has a color indicator letting you know it's full and needs to be renewed. You should open your safe (especially after initial installation) frequently to assess moisture and check the silica gel. How often the units need recharging depends on your climate and how often you are in your safe. For any questions regarding humidity and moisture, give us a call at 800-827-7534.
